Our technicians will inspect the temperature release valve to ensure it isn’t blocked or damaged. This valve makes it possible for the water to drain if the pressure inside the tank gets too high.

Tank water heaters should be flushed a few times per year to avoid the buildup of rust, corrosion, or sediment. Tankless water heaters should also be cleaned out occasionally to ensure continued effectiveness.

Tank water heaters should be drained at least once a year. Technicians will also inspect internal components like the anode rod to find out if it needs to be replaced, as well as the temperature pressure release (TPR) valve to ensure it’s not blocked. The TPR valve releases water when there is excess pressure in the tank and ensures that your pipes don’t burst. If this valve isn’t working like it’s supposed to, we can recommend if it needs to be replaced.
Although tankless water heaters don’t store water, the system still needs to be flushed regularly. There are also two filters in tankless water heaters that prevent buildup or debris from getting through, and our technicians check and clean those meticulously.
Homeowners should schedule hot water heater maintenance a few times annually, depending on the kind of water heater, energy source and neighborhood water quality. Tankless water heaters should have maintenance carried out twice annually.
Maintenance plans are worth the money for several reasons. Having routine maintenance for both tank and tankless water heaters can reduce the need for expensive repairs because things are less likely to break. You can also lengthen the life span of your water heater, preventing premature replacement.
