"Ted came to my house for a no heat call, after just having my furnace cleaned the day before. Ted was very thorough to make sure he figured out what was wrong. He replaced to parts and my heat worked again, until later that night. I had no heat again by early evening. He came right back and looked at every possible part on the furnace that could be causing the issue. He made sure my heat would stay on. He explained what he found and that he was going to discuss with Bob Strogen since it seemed like a strange occurrence. Ted said he would follow up with me and come back to check on the furnace to make sure it was still working properly."

"It starts with the technician saying "I hate these things" referring to our Navien unit. Throughout the visit he didn't really seem to know how to work on the unit. That doesn't give a lot of confidence in a service guy. We provided him with the error code and he had no idea what to do to trouble shoot. Basically told me to keep resetting the unit each time and then at some point it won't reset and then he/Strogen can help us. That is a ridiculous answer to me. At the end of the visit I asked him about the comment he made at the beginning and he said- he had only worked on this kind of unit 3 or 4 times. No wonder he didn't know what to do. When I called Navien to try to locate a different provider for the future because this is 2 back to back bad experiences with your company, they told me that the technician can call them and they can help them service the unit. Sad this technician didn't know this or reach out for help. You know what he didn't have any trouble doing? Charging us $99 for doing nothing and wasting 4 hours of my day waiting around for service. It is very disappointing to me that these are the experiences we have had with your company recently. Unfortunately your company is the only provider for our unit, so we are stuck, which is the only reason I did not click 1 in the next question. In reference to question 8, I find it disgusting that the technician sat in his truck smoking in my driveway and then eventually came back in with my receipt/credit card."

"The gentleman was really good and explaining the problem. He asked me if the vent that goes outside was cleaned was cleaned from the outside and I said no. I stated it should have been clean but he would have the office schedule a day and time to do that. He mentioned that he would not go outside in the dark with the snow on the ground. I told him I would no want him too because he might fall and could not see the ground he was standing on. My though was he might fall and get hurt. THE GENTLEMAN WAS GREAT."

"Joseph replaced the ignitor yesterday and the furnace was working fine when he left. I turned down the heat at 10 for overnight. When I turned up the thermostat this morning there was no heat. I could hear the furnace running but no heat. I called about 6:45 am and have yet to get a call back for a technician to come back. Would think with a maintenance agreement there would be a bit of priority for a call back, even being a weekend. Frustrated right now, disrupted our day to have to be here for a tech visit. Losing confidence is Strogen as this "no heat the next day after a service call" happened a few years ago as well."

We have 4 small feisty rescue dogs, and it was not possible for Ted to enter through the front door safely. I asked him to please come around to the back of the house, and I would open the bulkhead door for him. It was pouring rain. He very carefully descended down the steps of our bulkhead entry. I mentioned to him thing were out of sorts due to my Dad recently having a stroke. He said he was sorry to hear of such news. He assured me he would be in and out within an hour or two. My husband, Scott, returned home, and he was impressed with the work Ted had accomplished within a short time. Moving forward, if given the opportunity, we will request Ted Tremblay for our Strogen's services."

"This is in regards to the past 4+ weeks of trying to get someone to fix my heat. All of my boilers were working until I got the annual tuneup over a month ago. The boiler stopped working in my unit after they left and they have yet to fix it so its working properly. They send over someone different every time so I have to start from scratch explaining whats wrong and what the previous guy said needed to be done. No one knows whats been done, what hasnt been done and what the issues are. I ask for quotes several times. Never got quotes. I call every day. No calls back. Just promises that they will email the guy that should be showing up later. No one shows up. Now I just got pushed off to next week once again...to fix something that obviously wasnt done correctly by Strogens...but Im being penalized. The pisspour communication in this company is absolutely atrocious. I have 3 boilers that will probably need to be replaced in the near future. They just lost my business for those replacements."

"I have been a Strogen's customer for several years and have generally been satisfied with your service. However, I dislike feeling like I've been ripped off and I don't like surprises with respect to the nature and the cost of the repair. I had to call the office a second time to reach the technician as his initial call went to voice mail and he left no call back number. The furnace was worked on a month ago and I had no idea that this would be a charged for call. I was only advised on the nature of the repair and its cost after it had been completed. The technician explained that instead of replacing a ferrule on the line, he had to replace the firomatic valve which accepted a flared tubing and not the original straight tubing with a ferrule. Could the original fitting simply have been tightened to correct the leak? According to the bill, I received a 15% discount on the part totaling $35. The firomatic valve is available at list price anywhere for an average of $25. The result is a 25 minute repair involving a $25 part for $112 which potentially could have been resolved with a new ferrule or simply tightening the fitting??!! My answers below reflect my current perception of Strogen's and could change dependent on your response"

"The tech told me the vent damper would not work during the service visit, it,had been working fine up until then. He told me that he would leave it open while a part was ordered and that the office would call with a part price and installation cost the following Monday, they didnt call until two mondays later. The day after the tech left I went to get the model number off the vent damper and noticed a switch on the damper was left in manual, I moved the switch to automatic and the damper closed and hS been working fine ever since. When the office called with the part pricing I told them that I wouldnt need it."
