What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Strogen's Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is here with a couple of the most typical cooling problems in Rochester.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your air conditioner working but there isn’t cool air being produced, you could need to have your refrigerant levels evaluated. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air being produced by your system is actually cool. Call Strogen's Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning and we’ll come out and check your refrigerant levels and look into why your AC system is not producing cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

One reason your condenser fan may not be rotating could be that it just burned out and you need to replace the fan. Humidity can cause more condensation so another problem to watch for is that the water is not draining right or that the drain is restricted. If you can check these things, you may be able to pinpoint the problem; if not, give Strogen's Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning a call and we can look into what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and discuss your options to get your system cooling again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try lowering your thermostat. It seems simple but sometimes we overlook the obvious. If that doesn’t get your A/C cooling, check the air filter. If the air filter is blocked, it could cause significant cooling troubles. Another problem that could cause your insufficient cooling is that your HVAC system is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a typical issue when homes are constructed. Strogen's Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning will come out and do an analysis to determine if the size of your equipment is causing your issues.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your AC is short cycling, or turning on or off constantly, it could mean one of many things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and in need of cleaning. Once the equipment is cleaned and all clogs removed, you may be all set. Note that humidity also plays a piece so if your home cools to the correct temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to heat up quickly, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because the equipment is having to work harder to keep your home at a lower temperature.

No matter your trouble, whatever air conditioning trouble you run into, Strogen's Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is here for you all day, every day so we can get you comfortable quickly.
