Service Experts Donates Over 300 Pounds of Food to Minnie's Food Pantry

August 20, 2016

The Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning Headquarters Office in Plano, TX was honored to contribute over 300 pounds of food to Minnie’s Food Pantry, also located in Plano, TX.

“Last year, I had the ability to get a group of people to volunteer at Minnie’s and it was an incredible experience,” said Amanda Wilson, Operations Specialist for Service Experts. “They do so much more than just collect food – they are a vital part of this community.”

Minnie’s Food Pantry was created by Cheryl Jackson as a way to celebrate her mother, Minnie Hawthorne-Ewing D.D., who spent much of her childhood wondering if and where she would receive her next meal. In addition to providing meals to families in need, Minnie’s also holds classes to teach families how to incorporate the food they are given to make nutritious, long-lasting meals. They also give resume assistance along with money-management and job classes to help families get back on their feet.

Since the families receive approximately 50 pounds of food to get them through the month, Service Experts was able to provide meals for six families for the month.

“All the team members were so thrilled that we had this food drive for the organization, and they even took time to show us their awesome facility,” Wilson said.
